It’s not abnormal for me (or my husband) to randomly break out it song. Last week he actually got upset with me because I only sang one line, then abruptly stopped. It turned in to an interpretive dance/sing along in the kitchen. Thankfully he’s not on my email list so I can share this without repercussions. LOL
So I challenge you this week: Put on your favorite song, or at least one you know most of the words to, and sing along!
You can do this while you’re preparing your next meal, while driving, in the shower… The benefits do not change. If you’re shy, maybe wait until you’re alone so you can realllyyy sing along. Let the people in the car next to you (or the house next door) wonder WTF is going on, it’s FINE. 😅
Why You Should Try It...
Scientists have found that singing actually mentally and physically benefits us in the following ways:
Relieves stress
Boosts endorphins (YAY happy hormones!)
Can boost immunity
Improved lung & respiratory function
Helps with adaptation to new experiences
“By increasing blood flow through the body, singing also encourages the brain to release feel-good chemicals such as endorphins, and helps to strengthen neural pathways and increase neuroplasticity (the brain's ability to change and adapt to new experiences).”
