Celebrating Our Wins 🥳

Have you ever heard someone say that the past is the past, to let it go and just focus on the present?

I get where this stems from, and I’m all about grounding into the present moment, but take a second to visualize with me here… You step into the forest, embarking on a hike through beautiful foliage. The sun is shining warmly upon your skin. Plants are springing to life around you, in vivid color. Animals chatter and scatter about. You hike and hike and finally find yourself at the top, above the trees. But instead of turning around to look at the view, you simply catch your breath and continue on your path to hike back down.

Does that make any sense?!

Let’s try again from the top.. you turn around, you look out at the expanse of forestry you just hiked through. You notice the elevation with admiration instead of exhaustion. You celebrate how amazing it is that you made it to the top of this mountain.

Wow - that feels a little different, right?

The same concept applies to life. Sometimes, you have to pause and take a moment to look back at all that you’ve accomplished. Give yourself a pat on the back, and tell yourself how proud of you that you are. I'm proud of you!

Journal Prompt

Find connection this week through a little self-reflection. Grab a blank piece of paper and start with this:

“Dear <First Name >, I am SO proud of you for…..”

Write down whatever comes to mind - big or small wins, recent or distant accomplishments- that makes you feel proud of yourself. Just write it out. Then when you’re done, re-read what you’ve written to yourself. Notice how it makes you feel. Hopefully it fills you with a sense of pride. Carry this feeling with you for awhile. :)

I loved reading about your celebration of progress and how you’re making space for small wins it really resonated with me. When life gets hectic and everything feels urgent, it’s so important to pause and appreciate what we’ve achieved. At times like these, I’ve even thought it might be easier if someone could take my online exam for me so I could absorb moments of joy like your story highlights.

I remember one Sunday when I nestled into my favourite armchair and scrolled through a blog post titled “Celebrating Our Wins” by Creating Space the tone was warm, reflective, and full of small triumphs. In that mellow mood I admitted to myself that maybe I needed a little help too, because sometimes it’s tempting to do my online WGU class just to ease the burden. The post reminded me that recognising even quiet victories is part of keeping momentum alive in both life and learning.
